Alexa Carle-Hébert is a Montreal-based multidisciplinary artist, actress, screenwriter, and model. She holds degrees from Concordia University in Communications as well as Film Production and Screenwriting, and also studied on-camera acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.

 

After becoming quadriplegic following an accident in 2012, Alexa has transformed her personal journey into a creative force, using her work to advocate for more authentic and inclusive representation of people with disabilities.

 

On screen, she has appeared in films, commercials, and institutional productions, including Le Jour où le dromadaire est parti, La Minute MAJ* (Radio-Canada), and Ça Cause, a podcast exploring the topic of sexuality with people with physical disabilities.

 

She was the first wheelchair model in Canada to be represented by a major agency (SPECS at the time) and has collaborated with brands and organizations to help reshape standards of representation.

 

Alongside her acting and modeling career, she is always developing her own projects. Her screenplay Chokehold received multiple international awards and accolades before entering production.
